NVIDIA Rolls Out DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction and Showcases Next-Gen RTX Titles at Gamescom 2026

The upgraded AI model brings cleaner ray tracing across existing RTX hardware today, while major patches and upcoming releases prepare path-traced overhauls.

NVIDIA showcase at Gamescom 2026 with futuristic game displays, green lighting, and ray-traced visuals highlighting DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction and next-generation RTX titles.

DLSS 4.5 Launches Across Supported RTX Hardware

NVIDIA officially released DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction on August 25, 2026, making the updated neural rendering model available immediately to PC gamers. Rather than gating the upgrade behind individual game studio patches or specific hardware tiers, players on supported GeForce RTX systems can enable the new reconstruction pipeline directly through the DLSS Override toggle within the NVIDIA App.

Under the Hood: Second-Generation Transformer Architecture

The core enhancement in DLSS 4.5 lies in NVIDIA's second-generation transformer model. The architecture is engineered to provide greater spatial awareness and higher denoiser efficiency, sharply reducing artifacting and temporal instability during fast-paced in-game movement.

According to technical briefing details reported at Gamescom, the revised neural model processes roughly 20 percent more parameters and uses approximately 35 percent more compute power under the hood, all while operating within real-time per-frame rendering budgets.

AAA Showcase: First Light, Control Resonant, and Gears of War

NVIDIA paired the architectural reveal with a slate of major title integrations. On September 15, 2026, IO Interactive's 007 First Light will receive an update introducing full path tracing alongside DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction.

Remedy's CONTROL Resonant follows shortly after, launching on September 24, 2026, with day-one path tracing and DLSS 4.5 support. The game is also part of a newly announced hardware bundle with select GeForce RTX 50 Series graphics cards, laptops, and prebuilt desktop rigs.

Additionally, The Coalition confirmed that Gears of War: E-Day is integrating NVIDIA's RTX Mega Geometry tech alongside full DLSS 4.5 and ray tracing features to maximize geometric detail in complex environments.

RTX Remix Expands with DLSS 4.5 Mod Support

The modding scene is also getting access to the new pipeline. NVIDIA confirmed that the RTX Remix platform has been updated with DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, bolstering ongoing community remaster efforts including Painkiller RTX and the highly anticipated The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind RTX project.
